( This resort is beside Anika Beach Resort)

You can call / email them at : +639177222993 / beachplacid@gmail.com

Rooms we stayed at:

1. Non-beach front cottage

– Small room, clean and with A/C – Queen size bed, clean sheets and blanket but too thin and not big enough for 2 people  – Shelves mounted on the wall – Clean bathroom with hot/cold shower – Veranda with a table and 2 chairs – 1 minute walk to the beachfront

2. Room at the house of the owner – The second day we decided to stay, there were no cottages available but they gladly helped us by giving us a room at the house of the owner so we could stay longer at the resort.

– Big room with closet and vanity table – Sheets were thicker and more comfortable – Spacious and clean bathroom with H/C shower – House located inside the resort but beside the highway

The bathroom is connected to the room by a sliding door but you need to share it with the nanny of the house ( felt like we were the only ones using it the whole time anyway). Fan rooms also available inside the house for PHP 800.00

Review

  • Everybody was nice and friendly especially the employees at the restaurant
  • Beach front was clean and well maintained with lounge chairs and shades.
  • Smoothies were delicious.
  •  Free shuttle to and from the port and resort
  • Wifi, only available at the restaurant.
  • Breakfast was “okay”
  • When we arrived, we were told that the check-in time was at 1:00 pm but if the guest leave earlier, we could use it immediately. After 3 hours of waiting, we found out that our room was already vacant but still not ready because it was not yet cleaned.

Things to do

Inside the Ogtong Cave Resort: 20 minutes from Santa Fe going west.

The receptionist and the owner of the resort was very nice and courteous. The lifeguard of their pool was very friendly and became an instant photographer. The resort was clean and well maintained. The cave had fresh water, clean but not well-lit.

Bantayan Island Nature Park and Resort

From Beach Placid, travel East about 30 minutes.

Entrance Fee: PHP 200.00

We did not visit this place because the entrance fee was too expensive. One of the locals told us that this resort also had a cave inside but bigger compared to Ogtong Cave Resort.

One of my friends told me that if you want to visit this place, tell them that you will eat at their restaurant so you don’t need to pay the entrance fee.

Virgin Island

Less than 30 minutes away from Bantayan Island.

Boat PHP 500.00 pesos (small) PHP 800.00 (big)

Entrance Fee at the Island: PHP 500.00

Cottages at Virgin Island: PHP 100.00

Kitchen utensils: PHP 50.00

We did not see this one because it was too expensive and we thought we would be able to visit Malapascua Island the next day but decided later that evening to just enjoy and relax more at Bantayan.

Buy food before you explore Virgin Island so you don’t need to pay all these silly fees. Some of the boatmen will tell you that if you bring fresh meat, they can grill it for you. Their snorkel gears are also for rent so haggle with them that you want it for free.

Town of Talagnan, Poblacion Tugas

Locals told us that this is the best place to see the sunset. About an hour away from Bantayan Town.

Blue Inn

This restaurant was just in front of Cafe del mare. Looks like a nice place to hang out but more of a bar than a restaurant. Has a Reggae band every Saturday night.

HR Restaurant

Too many foreigners with young local girls. The place had a small restaurant and 2 big pool tables.
