The owner of this restaurant was an Indian guy who can speak Japanese fluently. The restaurant was clean and the service was good. Though it was a little expensive but we had a great meal here especially for me that had way too much Japanese food on my palate.

A block after Kofuku-ji. The deer roams freely around the park. Most of them are walking around eating grass but if they see you feeding other deer, they will flock and demand more food.

Tip: Bring LOTS of bread

  • Food

Nara park surrounded with cafes, restaurants, and shops. We found one on our way back to the train station. Forgot the name of this cafe, though. Unlimited drinks for around ¥  200, the dessert cost ¥  250 and taste really good.

Gion

  • Geisha District

Location: 〒607-8167 Kyoto Prefecture, Kyoto, 山科区椥辻封シ川町23−1

A great place to unwind after a busy day. Restaurants are everywhere in this area. This is a perfect place for Geisha spotting.
Tip: Geisha walks really fast and  NOT camera friendly. You need to analyze  where they usually appear then disappear suddenly. Stay at that corner for at least 30 minutes
  • Kyoto Gion Cuisine

We found the place somewhere in Geisha district offering cheaper meals compared to other restaurants but ended up paying ¥17,000 for this traditional multi-course meal. The serving of food was like an art, dishing up each cuisine one by one. You need to wait for a while for the next batch of food, which will give you a minute or two to talk to your friends savoring the uniqueness of each food.

  • Mos Burger

This burger made us missed our bus, walked about an hour in the middle of the night and took an expensive taxi ride for less than 10 minutes¥ 800 ) to reach our accommodation. Expensive burger, tiring night but WORTH IT!!

Cost: ¥ 380
